Who are we?
CarbonOptics is a joint venture between Elite Energy and Nexia Edwards Marshall (NEM), created to support our clients on their journey to Net Zero. By combining Elite Energy’s deep technical expertise in energy data systems with NEM’s strength in emissions advisory, we deliver innovative, end-to-end solutions for emissions tracking, compliance, and sustainability reporting.
Backed by decades of industry experience, we provide robust digital frameworks—including multi-scope greenhouse gas (Scopes 1–3), carbon capture and storage (CCS), and aviation-specific applications—to help clients effectively monitor, manage, and reduce their carbon footprint.
With a strong track record in regulatory frameworks such as NGERS, the Safeguard Mechanism, and climate-related financial disclosures, we ensure clients remain compliant and future-ready in an evolving regulatory landscape.

Brett Morkunas
Brett has been onvolved in emissions compliance, assurance and the broader resources industry for over 20 years. He is a Registered Greenhouse and Energy Advisor and a Registered Company Auditor.
He regularly advises on NGER, Safeguard Mechanism and Carbon Compliance.
Fabio Terzini
Fabio has been supporting the delivery of specialised
engineering and IT projects around the globe for over 10
years. He is a chemical engineer and holds a PhD in
reservoir engineering from The University of Queensland
in Australia.
Fabio has been involved in the implementation of hydrocarbon accounting, production forecasting and greenhouse gas applications.
